Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reportedly wanted a smooth process in finalising their divorce, rather than engaging in a bitter battle over assets.
An insider close to the couple told InTouch Weekly that both Affleck and Lopez were committed to keep their divorce proceedings “respectful and uncomplicated”.
According to the mole, the pair did not want to “nickel and dime each other.”
The ex-couple, instead, demonstrated a mutual respect that contributed to a smooth process.
“They respected each other way too much for that,” a source said, adding that they wanted to avoid the nasty nitpicking that often characterizes celebrity divorces.
“Instead, they have maintained a sense of dignity throughout the process,” the insider dished out.
Moreover, the former couple, who have been engaged twice, also agreed to split the profits from the sale of their luxurious Beverly Hills mansion equally, which has added to the sense of fairness in their split.
The 55-year-old singer and the Gone Girl actor met on the set of Gigli and got engaged, but called it off in 2004.
The met in 2021 and rekindled their romance and later got married in July 2022.
However, after staying married for two years, Jennifer Lopez filed divorce from Ben Affleck in August 2024.
