Former President Donald Trump’s own top military leaders — the men he personally chose — are now publicly warning that he is a threat to the U.S. Constitution and American democracy.
Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Mark Milley called Trump “fascist to the core” and “the most dangerous person” to the country. Former Defense Secretary James Mattis said Trump made a mockery of the Constitution. Former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly confirmed that Trump called fallen soldiers “suckers and losers” and discussed using the military against American citizens.
These are not political opponents — they are career military leaders who served him directly. They took an oath to defend the Constitution, not a president. After witnessing Trump’s private conduct, they concluded that he disrespects democratic institutions and seeks to use power for personal control.
